Bring your crew, friends and family for boating and fun on Sturgeon Bay’s historic working waterfront. On display at the Show are beautiful boats to admire, some professionally built and maintained, others the work of talented amateurs. Vessels range from historic canoes to kayaks, sailboats, fiberglass classics, and glorious mahogany runabouts.

Sikaflex Boat Building Challenge
returns for another exciting and challenging contest on Sunday. Who’s creation will float and who will tip and swim? Read on for details, and to Register YOUR Team!
While you’re here, tour the museum’s signature vessel, the century-old Tugboat John Purves.

Boater Check-in begins at noon.

Registered Boaters ONLY:

  • Bay-to-Lake Cruise Registrants cruise ten miles on a Bay-to-Lake Lighthouse Cruise, cruising by two lighthouses, past one of the largest working shipyards on the Great Lakes, and through the Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal;
  • Docktails & Delights – Cocktail Party after the cruise, enjoy a reception on the Show/Maritime Museum grounds

Saturday 8/6

  • Boat Show Hours: 10am-5pm
  • Sikaflex Build-A-Boat Challenge: Construction & Decoration day. Teams of amateurs construct and decorate plywood boats.
  • Enjoy food and drinks, maritime crafts for kids of all ages, Boathouse Sale, Museum tours, education with members of the USCG, and more!
  • Take a ride on a classic boat;
  • Sunset Cruise & Parade, Dusk: Decorate your boat and your crew with costumes and lights for a new take on a Sturgeon Bay tradition. (Registered Boaters only)

Sunday 8/7

  • Boat Show Hours: 10am-4pm
  • Bloody Mary Sunday Social at Sonny’s Pizzeria, 10am-1pm. Start the day with Bloody Mary samples, food & live music. Presented by Destination Sturgeon Bay, Bridge Up Brewing Co., and Sonny’s Pizzeria. More information and tickets available at: SturgeonBay.net.
  • Sikaflex Build-A-Boat Sea Trial Races Teams finish their plywood boats and compete in a hilarious race on the water! Cheer them on! Sea Trial Races @ 1pm.
  • Cast your vote for your favorite Sikaflex boat
  • Awards ceremony at 3pm

Sikaflex Build-A-Boat Challenge…What’s a Sikaflex?

The Sikaflex Build-A-Boat Challenge is wonderfully competitive and creative fun! The challenge is sponsored by the Sika Corporation, makers of Sikaflex polyurethane sealants, which are used in the challenge.
Construct a boat with your team on Saturday, add decoration on Sunday morning, and race for points Sunday afternoon! Official Sikaflex Challenge building restrictions make for fun and exciting sea trials. Register early to participate – the Sikaflex Challenge is limited to 12, two-person teams!
