The Museum is fortunate to be the beneficiary of two wooden boats the sale of which will benefit the Museum’s annual operating fund. These boats are available through a sealed bid process. All items are sold in “as is” condition.
This tender designed by Joel White was the grand prize in this year’s boat show raffle. Built in 2009 in the museum's Boat Workshop of Russian birch and Douglas fir, her dimensions are 11’2” overall; beam 4’5”; and weight 100#. Shellbacks are known for their versatility: well-mannered under tow; easy to handle, but big enough to carry a good load; a fine teaching tool for sailing or rowing; and her standing lug rig drops easily if it gets windy. The portion of any bid amount exceeding $3,200 is a donation. The Shellback is available for viewing by appointment only, photos available upon request; please email or call Trudy Herbst at (920) 743-5958.
This boat has been stripped and is ready for restoration. She is Spanish cedar built and features a wooden spar and boom. The trailer has tie-downs and a boom crutch. The boat is unavailable for viewing, but images will be provided upon request; please email or call Trudy Herbst at (920) 743-5958.
