Welcome to the Maritime Lighthouse Tower!
An Exciting Announcement
For four decades, the Door County Maritime Museum has educated and entertained the public while working hard to preserve rich maritime history. Now, the museum is ready to take a major leap forward with an exciting new initiative: expanding its Sturgeon Bay facility with a spectacular, 11-story Maritime Lighthouse Tower filled with state-of-the-art exhibits for all ages. Evoking the romance of North America’s lighthouses, it will serve as a striking visual landmark on the Sturgeon Bay waterfront.
The additional Maritime Lighthouse Tower will be dedicated to promoting the world’s most extensive inland waterways system and recognizing the region’s vast contributions to shipbuilding, recreational boating, and marine related businesses.
With ten years in the planning, the new Maritime Lighthouse Tower will become a lasting celebration showcasing the inland maritime contributions to the economy, commemorating the value of maritime activities, and conveying these successes to the public. The Maritime Lighthouse Tower will be a major attraction for tourism, business conventions, and the general public.
