Mainland Walk

A two-day self-guided mainland tour encompasses five lighthouses. Hours are 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Lighthouses:

  • U.S. Coast Guard Canal Station, Sturgeon Bay
  • U.S. Coast Guard Sherwood Point, Sturgeon Bay
  • Cana Island Lighthouse, Baileys Harbor
  • Ridges Range Lights, Baileys Harbor
  • Eagle Bluff Lighthouse, Peninsula State Park, Fish Creek

Cana Island: Park behind the Baileys Harbor Town Hall and take a shuttle bus out to the island.  No cars will be allowed at Cana Island.  The last shuttle bus departs for Cana Island at 3 p.m. on Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Tickets:
Good both days for all 5 mainland lights. Take your time and visit each of the sites on your own schedule.  Tickets not required for Sherwood Point nor Canal Station.

  • Youth ages 5-17 - $5
  • Children 4 & under - free

 

Baileys Harbor Boat Cruises

Baileys Harbor Boat Tour - Each 90-minute narrated cruise will go past Old Baileys Harbor Light, Cana Island Light & the Baileys Harbor Range Lights. Limited seating. Reservations strongly recommended. Arrive at Baileys Harbor Yacht Club Marina 15 to 20 minutes before departure time.

Tickets:

  • Friday - 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m. (SOLD OUT) & 7 p.m.
  • Saturday - 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m. & 7 p.m.
  • Sunday - 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. , 3 p.m. & 5 p.m.
    • $ 22 per person

Sturgeon Bay Boat Cruise

Fireboat Cruise - Each two-hour cruise will go past Sherwood Point Light and both lights at the Sturgeon Bay Canal Station. The Fred A. Busse, a retired Chicago fire tug, will depart the dock at the Door County Maritime Museum & Lighthouse Preservation Society in Sturgeon Bay.

  • Sunday - 12:50 am

Gills Rock Boat Cruises

Island Clipper - Leave from Gills Rock Dock. This tour extends into Lake Michigan past St. Martin & Poverty Islands, then docks on Rock Island for a one mile hike to the Pottawatomie Light. Bring your own sack lunch. Pilot & Plum Islands will be circled on the return trip. 

  • Saturday (SOLD OUT)and Sunday  - departs at 9 a.m. and return at 3 p.m.
    • Adults - $45
    • Children 4-11 - $15

Keepers' Kin Reception - The History of Door County's Lighthouses

Enjoy a dessert social with relatives of lighthouse keepers and learn more about the history of Door County's lighthouses through an in-depth presentation by Steve Karges. Steve is the author of Keepers of the Light, an in-depth look at Door County's lights. Keepers' Kin will be taking place at the Museum's headquarters in Sturgeon Bay.

$15 Keepers’ Kin ticket includes:

  • Presentation by Steve Karges
  • Listen to lighthouse keepers’ kin memories
  • Complimentary pass to tour the Door County Maritime Museum in Sturgeon Bay
