The year 2020 marks the 75th anniversary of the end of World War Two. As a center of shipbuilding during this time, Sturgeon Bay produced hundreds of vessels to supply the demands of the war effort. The new Maritime Museum exhibit goes into the storied history of those ships. The new exhibit also explores what happened to these vessels after they left their freshwater docks; most never returned to the Great Lakes.
The exhibit will run through 2021.
