Please consider a gift of time through volunteer opportunities at the Door County Maritime Museum. Whether leading a tour, doing office work, pounding a nail, serving on a committee, or helping with maintenance, volunteers are a valuable part of the Museum team. Opportunities abound!
Group Tour Leaders (Docents)
Volunteers lead groups on tours of the museum in Sturgeon Bay, the renovated tugboat John Purves, or at Cana Island Lighthouse. DCMM provides a comprehensive docent training program, so any volunteer can confidently lead a Museum tour.
Standing committees include Membership, Finance, Events, Collections, Cana Island Restoration, Exhibits, Facilities and Marketing.
Community Festival Promotions & Raffle Ticket Sales
Help promote the museum at community festival booths, in parades, or selling raffle tickets for the wooden boatbuilding project or other special items.
Welcome guests or members at special tables during events or on busy days at the museum, sell event tickets, and/or provide information.
Do you have experience in driving a farm tractor? We are looking for volunteers who can be a wagon/tractor driver for Door County Maritime Museum at Cana Island. Help shuttle guests across the causeway so they can enjoy their visit to Cana Island without the wet shoes!
Lend your skills in data entry, filing, shredding, social media or computer skills to help keep this organization in shipshape.
Provide hospitality or baked goods for events.
